THE AMAZING 3%

This was written by Dan Minick, President of IRN. I asked Dan's permiission to publish this becuase I think others need to hear this message. As you read this keep in mind Dan wrote this for IRN members. If you have questions for Dan his contact info is at the end of this post.

THE AMAZING 3%

There is not one person receiving this message that has not been negatively affected by this Economy in some way. It did not take an economist or politician to tell you your customer base was dwindling and it seems like everyone is taking longer to pay you. And telling you not to participate in the recession is a bit unrealistic. You have no choice. You can't ignore it and it is not going away. So, I am going to tell you to do something different. PARTICIPATE FULLY!! Become part of THE AMAZING 3%.

This is not just a neat slogan to use in my monthly Networking Note, so let me explain. Regardless of your category, there is someone within your area that is not only surviving this economy but actually doing well in spite of it. In fact, there is more than one and the actual number could be 10% of the people in your profession within your own zip code. But, even if it is not 10% or 5%, you can be assured it is at least 3%. How do I know that?

Because, 3% is a magic number. How many times have you heard 3% of the people who attend a seminar actually successfully implement what was taught or 3% of investors in the stock market get rich during the worst of times or only 3% of people set specific written goals or only 3% of you will actually do what I recommend in this message? The bottom line is the number never changes. It is always 3%. And I can guarantee you at least 3% of the people in your category will be successful during this difficult economic period. Becomi ng part of the 3% is never easy but it always starts with the same thing, ACTION.

You are going to have to initiate several of the following:

1. Make your company as visible as possible. Double your efforts to insure everyone you come in contact with knows what you do, what makes you different from your competition and why a referral for you to their customers or those they know makes them look good. This is especially true of your fellow IRN chapter members.

2. Re-evaluate who in your chapter could benefit from YOUR client base. Meet with them at your next chapter meeting and set a goal of giving each other at least two referrals during the upcoming week.

3. At the conclusion of your 30 second commercial in the coming weeks announce the name of the companies you would like to be introduced to or the name of a specific individual in that company you would like to know more about and be referred to.

4. Ask yourself who in your business community could make a significant difference to your business and set a goal of meeting that person in the next 30 days.

5. Re-read the IRN program from the 2006 Annual Conference entitled "Capturing Your Million Dollar Gorilla". If you don't have a copy, ask your Chapter President to download a copy from the Forms section of the IRN website and email it to you.

6. Make the decision to attend the upcoming IRN 2009 Annual Conference at Kalahari and register online before December 1 to take advantage of the discount available. This will also position you to maximize your networking results for 2009. We are putting together an amazing ACTION PLAN for you to take away from the event!

Now you know why this group is called THE AMAZING 3%. It is never easy but somebody in your category is going to prosper and you can improve your chances greatly by the action you take. Become a GREAT NETWORKER!!

Thanks for your time,

Dan

Change your thinking, change your life

Change your thinking, change your life

I was watching a powerful training video by Dennis Deaton on www.ilearningglobal.biz/ronf where he discussed the power of the mind and how what we think impacts our life.

He builds a strong case for improving our thinking processes. He states that “The truth of life is that we alter our destiny by altering our thoughts.”

For example, he discusses our relationship with money. We can alter our relationship to money by altering our thoughts. He states “money does what I cause it to do.” If we are not happy with the money in our lives we must change how we view our relationship with money.

We do this by altering our thoughts. As we alter our thoughts we change our life.

Because we totally under estimate our potential, we negatively impact our happiness. Deaton discusses fundamental and distinguishing characteristics of happy and effective people are their thought process.

Everything we do we do first in our mind.

The single determinant (to our happiness, success, etc) is a print out of our states of mind: we accept and believe what we think.

We are not locked into a specific state of mind; we can change our mental habits, our thinking processes.

What makes us human is that we can think about our thinking while we are thinking. Because we can do this we can analyze our thoughts and change our thinking

Change is a conscious choice.

As we revisit our attitudes and analyze them we can reconfigure them. But we must take ownership for these beliefs. When we do this we begin to understand that we are ordinary people who discover they can produce extraordinary results.

How do we do this? Do not repress a thought – redirect a thought – introduce a new topic.

We must feed our thoughts for them to stay alive. We feed them by giving them our attention

We can choose not to indulge certain thoughts as we shift our attention.

I received a call from a very depressed person and to compound matters she was mad at herself because she could not think her way out of the problem. She saw herself as a failure because she could not use the law of attraction to “attract” herself from her depression.

I asked her what herself talk was. She said I am always telling myself that “I am not depressed!” We talked about many things but I wanted her to understand that the unconscious does not understand the word not.

Let me give you an example. DO NOT THINK ABOUT THE COLOR GREEN.

What is the first thing that comes into your mind? The color green.

As she repeated the words “I am not depressed!” she was actually focusing on being depressed. I asked her to think differently by focusing on what she wanted (happiness) and not on what she did not want (depression.)

The mind attracts what it thinks about. Focus on what you want. I ask her to say “I am happy” instead of “I am not depressed.” This is very empowering to move toward what you want.

The other thing I asked her to think about was her belief system about depression. She felt she was not a good person because she was depressed. As a result of her depression she felt guilty because she was not the best mother and wife she felt she could be. When she thought about not being a good mother, I asked her to ask herself this question: Is there a different way to look at this situation?

Maybe, I suggested, she was doing what see need to do to take care of herself and we needed to help her find a more healthy way to do that. NOTE: I encouraged her to get professional help for those of you who are wondering.)

She thought herself into a problem (depression); only changing her thinking could put her on the path of taking corrective action.

Ask yourself, how could I look at this situation differently? In what ways can I look at this situation differently? This focuses you on an outcome, what you want and not on what you do not want.

“Life can be hard but you can do hard things” (Dennis Deaton)

Thanks Dennis for a great reminder that I am doing the right things.

Don't Quit

Don't Quit

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he might have won if he'd stuck it out.
Don't give up, though the pace seems slow -
You may succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than
It seems to a faint and faltering man;
Often the struggler has given up
When he might have captured the victor's cup,
And he learned too late, when the night slipped down,
How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out -
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are -
It may be near when it seems afar;
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit -
It's when things seem worst that you mustn't quit.

Here are 11 Actions You Would use to Survive and Prosper in a Recession

Here are 10 methods you would use to survive and prosper in a recession?

Here are 11 actions you can take during tough economic times….

1. Create a Strategy. The first action you must take is to create a marketing plan. You must get clear on who is your best customers, where to find them, what problems you solve and why they should buy from you. This does not require a long document but clarity in thinking. All eleven actions are documented in 49 Marketing Secrets (THAT WORK) to Grow Sales. (This book is available on Amazon.com) or www.49marketingsecrets.com
.

2. Be Consistent. You must be consistent in your message and brand throughout all your marketing activities. Otherwise potential customer can get very confused. Most people do not lose an opportunity to the competition; they lose the opportunity to complacency of the prospect. When the prospect gets confused they do nothing. Be consistent in your message.

3. Use Press Releases. Let the world know what you are up to. Use press releases to target specific locations. Write the press release with a unique angle that makes it easy for reporters and other readers to read your message. There is the possibility for a huge return with a minimal investment.

4. Create Controversy. Take your message, your story and build some controversy so it is interesting to others. Take something that everyone is talking about--newspapers, magazines, industry blogs, etc-- and incorporate that into your message.

5. Write Articles. Writing articles is one of the easiest and least expensive ways to get your name out and increase visibility. There are hundreds of sites looking for articles. The key is to write about what your prospects what to hear about, provide value and have a clear call to action.

6. Networking for Referrals. The quickest and fastest way to get new business is to ask for it; especially from your existing customers. They know your products and services so pick up the phone, take them out to lunch and ask them if they know anyone who they would introduce you to who could use your products or services.

7. Create Your Business Mastery Advisory Board. Create your own advisory board. Many business owners think they can go it alone. You can’t and the sooner you realize this the faster you can the result you want. It is all about people. If you do not test your message with your peers and see what works, you are wasting time, energy and money.Check out www.rpfgrouping.com to see how others do this.

8. Generation Leads. Use Tele-seminars and Webinars as a marketing tool so people can find out what you are about. These can be free or paid. The key is to provide value so people listening want to engage you. The beauty of this approach is people who are interested in what you are promoting naturally opt-in to listen to your story.

9. Use Electronic Newsletters. Electronic newsletters are a great way to stay in touch with your audience. They opt-in so you know they are interested. Having someone buy your products and services is as much need as it is timing. Your name (product) needs to be at the top of their mind when they need something. A newsletter can do that for you.

10. Speaking Before Groups. Public speaking is one of the best approaches to generating new business. You need to be professional and provide value but where are you going to get an opportunity to have 100 people pay to listen to you talk about what is important to you and how it can help them. If you are afraid of speaking, get trained. There are many different organizations to help you.

11. Create an Event. Create an event and make it a party. People are social animals who love to be involved and find deals. You can do a grand opening, a grand reopening, an anniversary sale, holiday sales or any one of 100 reasons to have a party and invite people into your business.

Leadership, The Platinum Rule and P & G

I recently read an great article about how leadership at P & G. Here is the link if you are interested.

Executive Spotlight: Bob McDonald - P&G's Chief Operating Officer
Monroe Street Journal - Ann Arbor,MI,USA
In a global company like ours, we use the Platinum Rule. Remember that the Golden Rule is to treat others the way you would want to be treated. ...

What intrigued me the most about the article was how they use The Platinum Rule to deal with the diversity within the company.

Having coauthored a book (The Platinum Rule for Small Business Mastery) with Dr. Alessandra, the creator of The Platinum Rule, and being a teacher of The Platinum Rule material, it is easy to understand why P&G would integrate The Platinum Rule into its culture.

I have worked with several local companies on the using The Platinum Rule and they are creative in their implementation. One organization is now looking at what employees do well, regardless of where they are in the organization, and allocating work based on a person’s strengths not his position in the organization.

What I have trouble understanding is why others do not embrace this powerful technique to create better relationship, increase productivity, reduce stress and grow sales. Yes, that is a tall order, but The Platinum Rule has been used in all those areas. The Platinum Rule is defined as treating others the way they want to be treated. Simply put, it allows you to create great relationships by meeting others where they are and speaking with them in a way most likely of being heard.

Let me know if you want to hear more. If it works for P&G, it can work in your organization as well.

Sincerely,

Ron Finklestein

Ron is speaking to the Cuyahoga Valley Entrepreneur’s Club (CVEC) - Join us

We are excited to announce the launch of the Cuyahoga Valley Entrepreneur’s Club (CVEC) in Independence. Please join us October 23, 2008, at the Sheraton Independence, from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM as we kick-off our Independence debut.

About the Cuyahoga Valley Entrepreneurs Club - Four components comprise the new leverage model for entrepreneurs in the 21st century: networking, creating strategic alliances, learning and technology. Learning is so important that noted author Stephen Covey states that “the half-life of what you know is about two to three years.” That means that much of what you know today will be obsolete in two to three years. So, if you are not continually learning, you will not be as effective down the road as you are today.

The Cuyahoga Valley Entrepreneur’s Club (CVEC) addresses three of these entrepreneurial needs head on, namely, learning, networking, and strategic alliance.

Each month, CVEC, the Independence chapter of The Entrepreneur’s Club of America (TECA™) brings together CEOs, company Presidents, business owners and entrepreneurs for 90 minutes to network, create alliances and learn from one another. We present speakers (successful business owners) who talk about subjects of importance, and lessons learned to entrepreneurs and small business owners who thirst for continuous learning. In an hour and a half per month, one “takeaway” can change a business or a life”.

Our guest speaker, Ron Finklestein, President of Akris, LLC, will share how the success of his business dramatically improved when he let go of his own limiting beliefs. In “Changing Beliefs That Hold Us Back”, Ron will demonstrate how he identified his own limiting beliefs, what he did to change them, and how the change positively impacted his business.

Ron is a business coach, consultant, speaker and trainer. He has written three books including “Celebrating Success! Fourteen Ways to a Successful Company”, “49 Marketing Secrets (That Work) To Grow Sales”, and “The Platinum Rule for Business Mastery”. In addition to Akris LLC, Ron founded the Business Mastery Advisory Board Franchise, a proprietary process that he used to transform his own business and the businesses of his clients. Overcoming Adversity - One Man's Story

Overcoming Adversity

And using adversity to overcome life’s challenges…..

I am president of AM Akron Toastmasters. We meet at Fairlawn Country Club every Wednesday.

One of our members is totally deaf. Not only is he deaf he just won the humorous speech contest.

The gentleman I speak of is Stephen Hopson.

I should mention Stephen is also a licensed pilot.

There are many things that life can throw at us. As a child, I could not imagine not hearing my mother’s or father’s voice.

Not hearing the sound of a soft rain on a warm spring day.

I could not imagine not being able to listen to Harry Chapin as he sings Taxi or a Better Place to Be. I would really miss Frank Sinatra sing Summer Wind and Bill Crosby talk about his childhood.

Could you imagine not being able to hear your friends, teachers, TV or radio?

Yet Stephen has not only overcome his disability but he has flourished in a world that takes hearing for granted. I do not fully understand what he has accomplished. How can I, I am not deaf. I am losing my hearing (a little) but I can still function by asking someone to repeat themselves. This gives me a new appreciation for what Stephen has accomplished.

After a successful career as an investment banker in NY and learning to fly a plane, he turned his career to public speaking and we have the privilege of hearing his wisdom and his humor as a member of Toastmasters.

At times, I get frustrated and down that things are not going the way I want or a fast as I want. I wake up in the morning and feel the aches and pains that come with getting older. I look at some people and wonder how they could be so stupid. Then I meet someone like Stephen and I am thankful for all that I have. I am thankful that someone like Stephen comes into my life to show me what is really important.

It is not about feeling sorry for yourself. I am sure Stephen has his share of feeling sorry for himself (at some point) because of his situation.

It is about taking what you have and doing the best you can do with what you have.

I really believe in the concept of inspired action. To me that is taking action on things that are most important.

Stephen has done that. Taking action does not mean you are on Oprah, making millions a year or buying into the traditional trapping of success; though I wish that for everyone.

No, inspired action is about finding what is in your best intelligent self interest and taking action that moves you forward. It is about looking fear in the eye and doing something anyway. It is about not listening to others tell you it is not safe, or takes to long, or you will be hurt if you fail.

Stephen must have experience all those things at one time of another. He could have lived nicely in a community for the deaf but he chose to leave that safety behind and venture out into the world.

He stretched himself in ways I can never understand. But he has showed me that I to can stretch myself in ways I never thought possible.

Stephen, if you are reading this, thank you for showing me what life can be, in all it possibilities and glory. Thank you for asking me to step out of my comfort zone, not by the words you say but how you act. Thank you for joining AM Akron Toastmasters and sharing your enthusiasm with us as we meet each Wednesday morning. It is a great way to start the day.

May we all take the same kind of inspired action and live life on our terms.

To your success,

Ron Finklestein

The Past Does not Makes us Who We are Today.

I was listening to Dan Clark on www.ilearningglobal/ronf talk about change.

The essence of this video is that there are two types of change. The first is about changing something to removing the pain. The second is about moving toward our dream (my words not his) and using pain as a motivator to achieve your goal.

He uses a great example about how our beliefs affect our attitude. If you live in Utah and it snows, you ski. If you live in the south and it snows, you wreck your car. If you live in the north and it snows, you ice fish.

Is the snow bad (or wrong or unsafe or fun or enjoyable) or is it our beliefs about the snow that causes us problems or creates excitement. The fact is, it is snowing. It is our belief about snow that causes us gas, indigestion and that burning sensation.

Clark goes on to say that some things are true even if you do not belief them. Some things are not true even if we belief it to be true.

Not only do we need to ask the right question but we must interpret the results correctly. If we ask the wrong question we will always get the wrong answer because the facts always support the question we ask. If we ask the wrong question and get the right facts, we are bound to create the wrong opinion or belief.

Change is about:
1. Moving to who we want to be
2. Stretching emotionally and intellectually
3. Using emotions to create passion, knowledge to create options and creativity to implement change in your life
4. Taking action (I added this)

Change is not from the outside in. This is reactive change – victim mentality (i.e., it is raining therefore it must be a bad day.) This attitude creates pressure and stress.

Changes must come from the inside out and when it comes from the inside out is proactive change. This type of change creates power. I would add that when change comes from the inside out, it comes from a place of power. The power comes from ownership, the willing to say things can be different and I can change them.

The past does not make us who we are today. It allows us to choose what we want to become.

Continued Success

I am Excited Today! No - not that way!

I am really excited today. Get you mind out of the gutter.

“Why at you excited then?” You ask.

Because I finished my next book called Taking Inspired Action (9 Secrets to Business Success) and sent it off to the editor today.

It is the end results of five years of study. I read, reviewed, discussed success with successful business owner and found they all performed the same nine actions.

I really struggled with describing some things like Intelligent Self-Interest (ISI) into the mix.

How do you implement ISI?

WHat is the impact ISI has on the business?

How ISI impacts the decision making process?

Let me know if you want more info? The book will be out for Christmas.

Stay tune for more details.

the Power of Letting Go

The Power of Letting Go

I was listening to Jim Britt on www.ilearningglobal.biz/ronf conduct a short training video on The Power of Letting Go.

Britt talks about not about your going after what you want but what you become. He uses happiness as an example. He addresses the question: How do you become happy?
He suggests the unhappiness is a learned behavior and we can change this behavior by letting go.  He discusses four steps to letting go:

Intention – Create the Intention to let go
Willingness – Be willing to let go
Commitment – Make a commitment to let go
Self observation – Pay attention to your thoughts, language, and behaviors and ask yourself how your thoughts, language and behaviors are supporting your unhappiness.

For self observation he suggests letting go of the thoughts that bring unhappiness.

For self observation he suggests use language that supports what you want to achieve or become.

For self observation he suggests use behavior that supports what you want to become.

These three actions allow you to let go by letting you disconnect from the problem.

He concluded by saying a “Belief is not something that has latched on to us but something we have latched on to.”

The only thing I would like to add is that we must it would be easier if we define what kinds of actions, behaviors, thoughts and sentence we would like to speak so we can focus on what we want, not on what we don want.

Problems with the Perfect Elevator Speech

Three Keys to the Perfect Elevator Speech

I was at a networking group and each person had an opportunity to give a 30 second commercial or an elevator speech. They confused the purpose of an elevator speech with humor. Each tries to be funnier than the last. I laughed a lot but was not closer to understanding what they did.

I was listening to Dave Sherman on www.ilearningglobal.biz/ronf conduct a short training video on Three Keys to the Perfect Elevator Speech.

He defines the perfect elevator speech as one that engages the other person in a conversation that contains the perfect answer about what you do. Here are three outcomes you can expect with the perfect elevator speech:

1. Meet more people
2. Do more business
3. Make more money

Sherman breaks the elevator speech down in three components:
1. Grab the attention of the listener – look for a positive reaction from the listener (smile, tell me more, interesting). If you do not get a positive reaction, do not use that particular speech again.
2. Engage them in conversation about your product or service by focusing on what they will experience when they use your product or service.
3. Encourage them to want to know more doing business with you. The intent is to create a connection with the person you are speaking with.

His suggested action step is to think about your elevator speech as you are driving home from work. What I suggest to my clients is this: call and ask your existing customer why they buy from you. Your elevator speech should include their answers as to why they buy, not why you think they buy.

Business Success and Personal Growth are Linked

Brian Tracy one said that there are only two things hold people back, lack of skill and not taking action. Skill can be taught. Action can be taken.

I wanted to share with you an opportunity to learn and grow, with state of the art technology, world class instructors, and affordable price. To be upfront, I am involed in this because I believe deeply in on going learning and personal growth as a requirement to business success. I also believe it will afford you the opportunity to earn money while you are learning, if you choose to do so.

If you’re a quick decision-maker and like big concept thinking, you’ll only need to read the next few paragraphs to learn how to gain a competitive edge in today’s marketplace. I’ve added details later if you want them. Check out the iLearningGlobal.tv (iLG) concept:

  • Click http://www.ilearningglobal.tv/video_preview.html and click on one of the iLG Signature Sample Videos. If you’re asked to download a video player - do it - so you can watch the sample in full-screen HD format – you’ll be stunned by the quality of the video on your computer screen compared to videos on sites such as YouTube. iLG secured technology to show HD Videos in full-screen with incredibly quick load times.

You’ll have two choices to benefit from full access to the iLG website.
The Customer option gives you complete access to all the content of the iLG website for $79.95 a month. While the Marketer (add $29.95 for a one-time registration fee) option gives you the same privileges of the customer, but also allows you to earn while you learn by earning commissions as friends, family, and business associates subscribe to the iLG website though your replicated web portal. And remember as long as they remain subscribers to the website, you receive commissions every month.

If you’re already convinced, merely click the link below and click the tab labeled “JOIN NOW”.

Not convinced yet?

Check out the company by downloading iLG Executive Overview http://www.ilearningglobal.biz/downloads/iLearning_gloal_executive_Overview.pdf

Imagine how much more you can achieve and earn in your career if you had the experts teaching you all about:

  • Setting Goals
  • Time Management
  • Sales
  • Marketing
  • Sales Management
  • Leadership
  • Tax Reduction Strategies
  • Relationships
  • And so much more

iLG’s mission is all about reaching millions with its training content and giving them the competitive edge in their career while also optimizing their personal life.

Hopefully, you had the time to preview one of the sample videos listed at http://www.ilearningglobal.tv/video_preview.html. If not, please do so now. And while you are at it, check the free sample audio previews and sample e-book as well.

While many prefer the videos as their learning tool on iLG, many others prefer the audio or the e-books. Because people learn effectively different ways, iLG is creating the website to accommodate all learning preferences. Not only do you get video, audio, and e-books, iLG will soon be adding:

1. Faculty Speaker Blogs

2. Guided Education Courses – guided education utilizing different formats of media on iLG and worksheets, developing a deeper understanding of the topics.

3. Faculty Q & A

4. iLG Behind the scenes – interviews and insights from the faculty speakers and self made millionaires.

5. iLG Mobile – soon you can catch the latest content per your PDA or cell phone

Consider the value. All this for only $79.95 a month! (Approximately $2.60 a day. People pay more for a Starbucks latte!) Consider how much you have paid for a half-day or full-day seminar - hundreds of dollars for a day of training and then you have to pay for parking, gas, food, and sometimes hotel expense. If you are anything like me, you value learning and $79.95 is just a drop in the bucket if you consider all of the books, audio, video, and other training tools you’ve invested in yourself. Besides, if you check with your accountant, because you could probably write off all or part of the cost as an educational expense.

Many join iLG to gain a competitive edge in business, while others realize that it can aid them in their personal lives as well. Currently, most of the content on the website is geared toward business and career development, but more personal and family issues are being planned for future additions. The fact is that additional content is being added monthly to keep the content relevant in today’s ever changing world.

Additionally, you can earn as you learn. By sharing iLG with your friends, family and business associates, you can earn commissions that can offset part or all of your cost of your membership – essentially giving you a free learning tool.

iLG created this opportunity to reach millions as fast and furiously as possible, they created the Network Marketing option so you can earn as you learn. iLG is giving away up to 60% of their income from their learning website to Marketers and their downlines. If you are unsure if you want to sign up as a Marketer, you can always sign up now as a customer and sign up as a Marketer later. To join as a either a Customer or Marketer, simply click the link below and click the tab “JOIN NOW” on the home page:

www.iLearningGlobal.biz/ronf

If you’re intrigued with the “earn as you learn” network marketing option, but would like to see how much you can earn, check out the compensation plan at http://www.ilearningglobal.biz/downloads/iLearningGlobal_Comp_Plan_Spreadsheet.pdf

The compensation plan to be simple and straight forward. And it seems very fair. The Marketer option not only can offset the cost of your membership to the iLG learning website, you can also earn additional money. How much? Well that all depends on how many of your family, friends, colleagues and future acquaintances sign up on your replicated website which is given to you as a Marketer. And it also depends on how you support those you sign up as customers and marketers so they stay as customers or marketers. You earn commissions every month they stay involved with iLG.

So seriously, how much can you make? It depends, but I did calculate some scenarios. For example, if you introduced this to 5 Marketers and each one of them introduced it to 5 Marketers and so forth, and each person is a full-paid member when you get down to your 5th level, you will have leveraged your downline and your efforts to grow to a size of 3,125 Marketers in your downline. For these efforts you and your downline will have created $249,843.75 in total Group Monthly Volume and you could earn $20,962.50 per month for your efforts. And at that Group Monthly Volume, you may also qualify for Generational Ambassador Bonuses and possibly Profit Sharing Ambassador Pools as listed in the Compensation Plan. For more explanations about the compensation plan, download http://www.ilearningglobal.biz/downloads/Compensation_Plan_Explanation_iLG.pdf

Will all of this work perfectly as planned, probably not? I can’t guarantee how much you will make or even how much I will make. All I can guarantee you is that I will be earning as I learn. And I will be introducing iLG to my family, friends, colleagues and new acquaintances. I invite you to do the same.

If you join as a Marketer, I will support and help you create your downline, so you too can enjoy the fruits of your labor and leverage those of your downline.

Are you ready yet? If you are, simply click the link below and then click the Tab “JOIN NOW”. If you have any questions or difficulty with signing up please call or email.

www.iLearningGlobal.biz/ronf

If you wish to see graphs of my calculations for the above scenarios or have other questions, please email me at ron@akris.net.

Whether you decide to join now or not, I’d be interested in what you think about the iLG website and/or the marketing opportunity that was offered to you. What do you like? What you don’t like? What things can we do to improve?

Learn to Think Differently - The Definition of Success is ….

The Definition of Success is ….

In our prior post we talked about the importance of intelligent self-interest or selfishness, results, ownership, discipline, people, persistence, focused and ideas.

Today we are going to talk about action.

What does success mean to you?

I do probably 100 talked a year on business mastery and success. In almost every talk I ask this question. “What does success mean to you?” If there are 100 people in the room I get 95 different answers.

The answers included:

“Being Happy.”

“Making more money.”

“More Family time.”

“More Freedom.”

The list goes on.

How can the word “success” have so many different meaning?

As you probably gathered by now, if you can’t define something you cannot achieve it. I will ask the audience “what does being happy mean?”, “what does making more money mean?”, “what does freedom mean?” If you can’t define it you cannot achieve it.

I finally realized people confused the outcomes of success with being successful.

Let me say that again. I finally realized people confuse the outcomes of success with being successful.

Let me explain.

If you have the Oxford Dictionary of Word History, take a minute look up the work success. When the word was introduced in the English language, it simply met to achieve. There was no moral judgment. If I stole something, I was as successful as someone who built a house.

I then looked up the word achieve. The dictionary gave the definition as “taking action.”

I finally realized that success simply means to take action. The outcomes of being successful are

“Being Happy.”

“Making more money.”

“More Family time.”

“More Freedom.”

Etc.

If success means to take action, what action do you need to take to achieve your intelligent self-interest?

In the last nine emails I laid out the nine behaviors successful people implement. Let me review them here:

  1. Intelligent Self-interest (selfishness)
  2. Taking Ownership
  3. Measure Everything – Results
  4. Understanding People
  5. Being Persistence
  6. Staying Focus
  7. Creating habits - Discipline
  8. Creating Ideas
  9. Taking action

If you do not understand how to implement these behaviors call me. I do this for a living. I can help. I want you to succeed (take action toward your intelligent self interest).

If you chose not to call me, please send me an email to let me know how you are doing implementing these behaviors.

If you do not or cannot work with me create your own advisory board. Remember, the Advisory Board is composed of other likeminded people who are dedicated to providing intelligent and objective feedback, practical suggestions, usable advice and best practices to help YOU get results.

Learn to Think Differently - Too Many or Not Enough

Too Many Ideas? Not Enough Ideas?

In our prior posts we talked about the importance of intelligent self-interest or selfishness, measuring results, taking ownership, developing discipline, understand people, being persistence and staying focused.

Today we are going to talk about ideas.

Once we decide on our intelligent self-interest we can run into one of two problems: too many ideas or not enough ideas.

How do we solve this dilemma?

Let me tell you specifically what I do that has transformed my life and my business.

I created a concept call Business Mastery Advisory Board (www.businessmasterynow.com.)

This board is composed of other likeminded people who are dedicated to providing intelligent and objective feedback, practical suggestions, usable advice and best practices to help me get results.

It does three things for me:

1. Keeps me focused on my intelligent self-interest

2. Provides concrete ideas to take me deeper into achieving my goals.

3. Acts as a sounding board to help me eliminate the ideas that seemed good at the time but have no real value.

Is it easy putting your dreams and goals out for others to see? No, it is not.

Is it important? You better believe it?

Many times we do not achieve our goals because we do not know how; especially in this day and age where it is impossible to keep up with the pace of change.

If you don’t share your intelligent self-interest, how will you find someone to help you? If you don’t share your intelligent self-interest, then you have not taken ownership. If you don’t share your intelligent self-interest, how can you create an advisory board of likeminded people to help you?

I know what you are thinking. I do not need an advisory board, I can do it myself. Good luck! Every major company has a board. They call theirs a Board of Directors. The Board of Directors is tasked with holding the senior management team accountable to achieving the plan. They help clear out obstacles. They help with objective feedback, practical advice, and best practices.

If they use the concept, doesn’t make sense for you to do the same thing?

You do not have to go it alone. You don’t want to go it alone. Find a board of trusted advisors and hold each other responsible to help each other achieve the intelligent self-interest that is so important to you.

Take action now!

In the next post we will discuss action in more detail. I will let you in on a secret. The real definition of success is action. Learn more in the next email.

Learn to Think Differently - Power of Focus - Two Questions

The Power of Focus – Two Questions

In our prior posts we talked about the importance of intelligent self-interest or selfishness, measuring results, taking ownership, creating discipline, understanding how to treat people others the way they want to be treated and persistence.

Today we are going to talk about focus.

Focus is only two questions.

These questions take you back to your intelligent self-interest (selfishness.)

These questions reinforce the ownership aspect of your decision.

These questions keep you looking at the effectiveness of your actions – the results.

These two questions are:

Is what I am going taking me closer to my intelligent self-interest (selfishness)?

If not. Why am I doing it?

There is no room to hide here boys and girls. You either are or you are not.

To paraphrase Yoda in Star Wars: There is no trying; only doing.

Are you staying focusing on what is important to you?

If not, why? Did you set your intelligent self-interest too high? Because we are consistently learning, did you intelligent self-interest change? That’s ok if it did. Learn from it and fail forward.

Remember in our last email we discussed failing forward. It took me several tries to get clear on what my intelligent self-interest was all about. It may be the same with you.

Did you get distracted? Did you lose sight of your grand plan? Are you getting push back from those close to you? Are you strong enough to maintain your course and not let others derail you?

Remember persistence. If you are losing interest, you have not yet found your true intelligent self-interest.

Stay true (focused) to your intelligent self-interest.

In the next post we will discuss ideas. This is a big problem for most people. The problem is not lack of ideas, it is too many ideas.

You may also contact me directly at ron@akris.net or by phone at (330) 990-0788 if you would like to learn more. When you call, please ask about his 100% money back guarantee and mention this email. Thank you for your time and here’s to your business success!

Learn to Think Differently - Persistence

Persistence

In our prior post we talked about the importance of intelligent self-interest or selfishness, measuring results, taking ownership, implementing discipline and treating people the why they want to be treated.

Today we are going to talk about persistence.

It is hard to be persistence if you do not have any idea as to why you need to be persistence and motivated to take action. Intelligent self-interest is key to persistence.

In a prior email we discussed intelligent self-interest. It is an understanding what we need to accomplish, taking ownership for our situation and taking action to get the desire results.

When we take action, many time we fail and give up. Usually it is because we are learning something new and we want results now. Persistence, by its definition implies failure. I need to keep trying something until I get the results I want. I call that failing forward.

Because we fail more than we succeed we need to reframe failure into something positive. Just like a rocket is always adjusting to ensure it is on target, we need to do the same thing.

Most people think a rocket goes from point A to point B without any adjustments. That is not true. A rocket makes thousands of calculations (adjustments) per seconds. The process goes something like this: the rocket is fired, it goes through its calculations to find it is off course by three degrees, it corrects and finds that it over corrected, it is now off two degrees in the other direction. It makes another adjustment. This process goes on until the rocket reaches its goal. The rocket continues to fail forward – toward the end results, the goal, its intelligent self-interest (the destination).

Let me bring this closer to home. Thomas Edison was once asked how it felt to fail so many times. Edison told the reporter that he never failed. He told the reporter that if he tried something 10,000 times and it did not work, he did not fail. He simply learned 10,000 ways it did not work.

You need to think like Edison. Do not fail. Just understand that if you try something and you do not get the desired results, learn from your results and try something else; fail forward. Reframe the failure experience into something positive and try again. After all, if your intelligent self-interest is powerful enough, you will be inspired to fail forward.

I am of the sincere belief that people fail not because they lack skills. I think they fail because they are not inspired. Because they are not inspired, when they face a difficult situation, instead of failing forward they give up. They either did not develop their intelligent self-interest or they lost sight of it.

Find you dream, your intelligent self-interest and be like Thomas Edison and reframe every negative experience into something positive and stay focused on your intelligent self-interest. Don’t let others steal your dream.

In the next post we will discuss focus. Focus is composed of two very powerful questions.

Learn to Think Differently - People – Inspiring Others to Successful Action.

People – Inspiring Others to Successful Action.

In our prior post we talked about the importance of intelligent self-interest or selfishness, measure results, take ownership and apply discipline.

Today we are going to talk about The Platinum Rule 12®' type="#_x0000_t75"> “treating others the way they want to be treated.”

The information for this email is thoroughly documented in a book called The Platinum Rule for Small Business Mastery. It is available on Amazon.com.

We all know people are different. Yet many of us have never been taught how to build effective relationships. Since we are all members of the human race it is expected that we would develop those skills from our teachers, parents and role models.

That’s fine if your role model was an expert in identifying and creating these relationships. Most of us never had those kind of coaches, mentors or teachers.

Because we did not have experts teach us we need to take ownership for learning this skill. That is where The Platinum Rule comes into play.

If you agree with this statement: Our success is totally dependent on our ability to communicate, lead, sell, coach, mentor, influence, and motivate others, you must learn The Platinum Rule.

The Platinum Rule with teach you:

1. Learn the strengths of your natural behavioral style and how to leverage them.

2. Discover common traits shared by effective leaders who have mastered behavioral adaptability.

3. How your behavioral style can be leveraged to create an effective culture that permeates every facet of your business.

4. Learn how to create discipline within your organization that guarantees predictable results. 5. Develop a winning attitude that improves every facet of your business.

6. Why your natural behavioral style may be impeding your ability to take calculated risks that are necessary to build a winning business.

7. You will learn how to leverage your natural behavioral style within your particular selling environment.

8. We will teach you how to use psychographics in customizing your marketing messages.

My intent is not to teach you The Platinum Rule in this email. That is not possible. Though The Platinum Rule is easy to learn, it requires practice to become proficient, like any new skill. That is why persistence is so important.

In the next post we will discuss persistence. Anytime you learn something new your effectiveness will suffer. Persistence is essential to success. Find out why in the next email.

Learn to Think Differently - Discipline (Creating Corporate & Personal Habits)

Discipline is Creating Measurable, Repeatable, and Predictable Habits.

In our prior posts we talked about the importance of intelligent self-interest or selfishness, measuring results and taking ownership.

Today we are going to talk about discipline. Not that kind of discipline. No one likes to be forced to do things they don’t like.

I am talking about a different kind of discipline: the creation of measurable, repeatable, and predictable action that create habits.

My of us suffer because we have bad habits that we created (remember ownership). Those habits worked for us at the time. When we realized they worked, we used them over and over again. We created a habit. That is all a habit is (measurable, repeatable, predictable) process or action.

If I am in sales and I know that to close one sale I need to make 50 calls. When I make my fifty calls I get ten appointments. From ten appointments I make one sale. What I just described is measurable, repeatable and predictable process. I also know that if I make fifty calls and don’t get ten appointments then I need to change my approach to getting appointments. If I am getting my ten appointments but not making my one sale I know I need to change how I close.

Once I figure out how to make my fifty calls, get my ten appointments and make one sale, I just created a habit: measure, repeatable and predictable. As a business owner you can now train all new sales representatives on this process. The new sales representative can now achieve the same results.

How would this work in a personal relationship? If I am in a relationship with someone and we are always fighting (fighting is my results,) I can define the outcome I want (intelligent self-interest.) I can measure the change in the relationship by the reduction in the number of fights. Since I am taking ownership for the situation, I am empowered to change how I respond to the individual. Since I chose to respond differently I can expect different results.

When I get the results I want I can choose to implement those behaviors regularly.

Didn’t I just create a measurable, repeatable and predictable process?

In the next post we will discuss people. Your success and my success is 100% dependent on our ability to communicate, inspire, lead, motivate, coach, influence and sell ourselves and our ideas to others. To learn more about the people side click here.

Learn to Think Differently - Results are Critical

It Is Not About Accomplishments – It is About Results.

In our prior posts we talked about the importance of intelligent self-interest or selfishness and taking ownership.

Today we are going to talk about results, or more correctly, measuring everything.

Busyness does not count. Efficiency does not count. Only effectiveness counts.

You are probably asking yourself “what is the difference between efficiency and effectiveness?”

Since you asked, let me explain.

Efficiency is doing thing right.

Effective is doing the right things.

If you do not measure everything how do you know you are being effective.

I had a client whose company was very efficient, at all the wrong things. The things they needed to be effective at were not being measured or addressed at all. This is the direct result of market changes. As a result, over time, he had to sell his company.

When you perform your daily activities and you are not clear on what you want to accomplish (your intelligent self-interest), how do you know you are doing the right things; being effective?

I have a client who is great at networking. She did not get any business but she met with everyone. When I asked her why she was meeting with a specific person she answered “isn’t that what networking is all about?”

I then asked her what outcome she wanted?

“I don’t know.”

Let me ask you again: “Why are you meeting with him?”

“I don’t know.”

If you are meeting people (networking) with a clear objective of what you want from each meeting, how effective can you be?

If you are meeting 20 people a week, you are certainly efficient are creating networking opportunity, but how effective are you in moving towards your goal?

Since we talked about ownership, you are now empowered, to create an effective networking strategy.

I asked her the following questions.

“What do you want to accomplish from each meeting?”

“Who is the best person for you to meet with?”

“Is a next step always defined? If so is it followed up on?”

“What is the cost in terms of time, energy and money?”

“Is the return on investment clearly measured for time, energy and money?”

When she started getting clear on what she wanted from her networking, her business grew 40% in less than a year.

Another client figured out that for each networking event he missed is cost him $88. He knew where his business came from and it came from networking. So he scheduled his time most effectively by attending more networking events.

Let’s define results.

A result is defined as a consequence of a specific action. Since you are taking ownership for your life, your intelligent self-interest, start measuring everything. Find out what works. Measuring results allows you to spend you time effectively on achieving your selfish, your intelligent self-interest.

In the next post we will discuss discipline. Discipline allows you to take what works and make it a measurable, repeatable, and predictable personal and corporate habit.

Learn to Think Differently - Ownership

If You Don’t Own it You Can’t Change it.

In our prior emails we talked about the importance of intelligent self-interest or selfishness.

Today we are going to talk about ownership.

Ownership is critical to success because it is so empowering.

Let’s define ownership.

Ownership is the legal right of possession.

In the simplest terms it simply empowers you to embrace your intelligent self-interest.

Ownership says I am allowed to pursue my dreams, my goals, and my highest ideals; my intelligent self-interest (selfishness).

When you take ownership for your situation, it allows you to make change and do things differently. Ownership empowers you to act.

Ownership is different from responsibility. I like to think of it as more powerful than taking responsibility. Responsibility is defined as “on one's own initiative or authority.” Ownership is a “legal right of possession.” I don’t know about you but I want the legal right to my intelligent self-interest. I then can take initiative (responsibility) to make things happen.

What are the Outcomes of Ownership: If you don’t own it you can’t change it. If you don’t own it you can’t achieve it.

Tell yourself right now that you own your current situation. You may not know why you are in this situation, but once you take ownership for where you are, you are now empowered to change it.

It is learning to think differently. Own your thinking process, own your results, own your life and know you can change the outcome from here forward because you are empowered to take inspired action to achieve your desired results, your intelligent self-interest, your selfishness.

In the next post we will discuss results. Results are the strong outcome of ownership.

Learning to Think Differently 1- Intelligent Self Interest

In our last blog post I mentioned I would share the nine behaviors successful people implement daily. Here is the first one: Intelligent Self-Interest (selfishness).

When we look at the meaning of the word “intelligent” when it was introduced into the English language, it simply meant “to understand.”

When we talk about being selfish, and I define selfishness as intelligent self-interest, we are simply asking you to get clear on what is in your best interest. Stated another way, what is most important to you?

Why is getting clear so important? We have limited time, money, and resources and it is impossible to utilize these gifts wisely unless we know what we want to achieve; that is we are selfish in our use of these gifts. We have so many people asking us to spend our hard earned money, limited time and precious resources that it is impossible to know where to spend this time, money resources unless we understand what is in our best interest, our intelligent self-interest.

Stated differently, I am asking you to be selfish about your time, money and resources so you can spend it moving forward on your intelligent self-interest.

Focus your time, energy and money on what you want to achieve and not on what some slick marketing message says is important. Then, when you get clear on your selfishness (intelligent self-interest), I want you to take inspired action toward your selfishness.

Henry Ford said it best: “Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goals.”

Stay focused on your goals, your intelligent self-interest, your selfishness.

Take inspired action to move forward one step at a time, never losing sight of your intelligent self-interest.

In the next post we will discuss ownership of your situation.

Learn to Think Differently

In the next nine blog posts I will share with you the behaviors that successful people implement daily.

I asked my clients why they work with me. Here are three things they told me:

  1. I learn to think differently!
  2. Personal/Professional Growth!
  3. I found out I am not alone. Others are dealing with the same problems!

I tell you this because I want to help you be more successful by sharing the same concepts I teach them.

I have found that our belief system is the biggest obstacle holding us back. Our beliefs are our evaluation of something. Frequently when we re-evaluate a situation our belief about that situation will change.

As Einstein said "We can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them."

That is why I created a program designed to help you think differently by driving the nine behaviors all successful people implement. These nine behaviors were distilled from talking with, interviewing and reading about hundreds successful business people. In the next nine posts I will be discussing each of the behaviors.

The Awesome Power of a Thank You

The Awesome Power of a Thank You

Recently, I asked a number of clients what they have experienced as a results of working with me. I do this kind of research regularly to ensure I am meeting my clients’ expectations.

The first reason for this post is to share some of the comment I received. They were not what I would have said if someone asked my why they work with me.

What they told me was this:

Personal Growth

Knowing that I am not alone and other share the same problems

The ability to help others

Great place to do market research to reduce the risk

Being around other successful people

Learn new skills

Gain Confidence

What I expected to hear was – Grow revenues.

Wow was I off base. As a result of personal growth, helping others, etc. they did grow revenues but they had to implement new behaviors to create new revenue streams.

It just goes to show we often do not know why people buy from us. That is why this kind of on-going research is so important.

The second reason I mention this is because, the very next day, I received a two page thank you letter (this person was not part of this research) and I wanted to share some section of this letter with you.

“First let me thank you for the Business Mastery Advisory Board and the personal impact this has had on my life…. for the first time in a long time, I am finding the energy and desire to make significant changes in my business and my life.”

This person goes on to say “facing myself with honesty and a willingness to address my own behaviors and thoughts has been frightening. Receiving well meaning feedback, honest view points, and encouragement for yourself and other members of the Business Mastery Advisory Board is hard but it has been absolutely critical to changing my business and myself. I am proud to be with a great group of people.”

I love what I do but when I received this letter I feel an incredibility sense of responsibility about the impact I am having. I came to realize this responsibility not just through the Business Mastery Advisory Board meeting but by the simple action I try to take daily to model the behavior I teach.

No action goes unseen. No word goes unheard. This is true in all aspects of business: with employees, family, friends, prospects, clients, customers and everyone we meet. I became profoundly aware of the impact my words, actions, and behaviors have on others. I am both thankful and grateful people would share with me like this but I am almost intimated by the sense of responsibility I have when I work with others.

Whether you realize it or not your word and actions are powerful in their effect on others. Ask yourself the next time you are about to say something: “what message am I sending? Do I want to send this message?”

To your personal growth
